SC279 Father's Day King of the Grill Fun

I am so thrilled to have been able to use the King of Grill stamp set from Stampin' Up's new Summer mini catalog in today's splitcoaststamper's sketch challenge. I just think this set is the cutest, and obviously perfect for Father's Day. I also love both the spot lighting technique, and the argyle DSP used in the background. I hope you enjoy!

Simply Sympathy Card

It was great to be able to participate in two splitcoaststamper challenges this week with one card. I needed a sympathy card for a co-worker, whose father passed away this week, and a thought the challenges were a great opportunity to come up with something. The challenges I participated in were:

The card features colors in black, white, and silver. The primary image was stamped on whisper white cardstock, and then spritzed with my silver smooch spray. Little pearls were adhered to the flowers. Some additional stylized silver hardware adds a special touch!

New Baby Trains, IC220, SC267

I made this card for a good friend of mine, who is due with her second in May. Two other friends and I are throwing her a surprise baby shower when we go out to dinner on Monday evening. I had a lot of fun with this card, and it was really quite quick and easy. Even better, it qualifies for two splitcoaststamper challenges!

The card was super simple to make, I just stamped the train image from SU!'s Teddys and Trains stamp set in stazon ink. Then, I colored the image using a blender pen and my ink pads. A few simple punches and some layering of cardstock and DSP, and I've got one cute card!

Warm Wishes

So, I'm truly trying to achieve a better work/life balance and get back into stamping again! I've finally scheduled some classes, and I dusted off my stamping supplies earlier this week. I decided not to do any challenges, and just come up with a card! Although, I do admit that this card was definitely "cased"/inspired by a couple of cards on splitcoaststampers! (Of course, I can't find the cards now to give the proper credit.)

I really love this stampin' up! retired set, and it's one I think I'll keep for a long time. I thought the DSP was great as it looks a little "retro kitchen" to me. A perfect compliment to the mug of warm wishes!

I created the card (and 5 more just like it) to send to my DH's aunts and uncles along with a photo of them from our wedding in October 2009. (Yes, I've been derelict in getting it out to them.) It was the first time in years that all of the siblings were in one place, so our photographer took the opportunity to take a group photo of them!
